As embedded boards move to smaller, faster application processors, the parallel RGB interface that older display modules relied on has become a bottleneck – too many pins, too much EMI, and not enough bandwidth for higher resolutions. MIPI-DSI solves that by driving the panel over a small number of differential lanes, which is why most current single-board computers, industrial handhelds, and smart terminals now expect a display with a MIPI interface rather than a parallel one.
